Call for Workshops

Femspec is delighted to announce the launch of a workshop series! We would like to host scholars, authors, artists, and all community members who would like to promote and teach through our platform. We invite workshop topics that cover the range of speculative feminist thought, including lecture series on important authors or works, writing and art workshops, and educational series. All workshops are promoted to our mailing list and affiliated feminist and science fiction studies organizations. If you have a topic you would like to share with others, please contact us with your pitch!

All workshops will be 40 minutes long and meet 4 times. The format should be virtual, and the course length is designed to accommodate Zoom. The workshop host has complete discretion as to when these sessions meet, however.

The cost of the workshop for each participant is $150. All workshop hosts must subscribe to Femspec.
If you have a "special circumstances" subscription, then the proceeds of the workshop will be split 50/50 between Femspec and the workshop host. If you have a "personal" subscription, then the proceeds of the workshop will be split with 60% to the workshop host and 40% to Femspec.

To pitch a workshop, please contact Doctor Weinbaum (weinbaumbatya@gmail.com), and include the following information:

  • Proposed workshop title

  • 50 word description of the workshop

  • Intended audience (age(s), specific groups such as authors or educators, etc.)

  • Your name (as you would like it to appear on the website)

  • An email address that workshop participants can use to contact you

  • Dates/times of proposed workshop

Workshop proposals will be accepted throughout the year.
