Peer Review Coordinator Needed

Duties for this position would include the following:

  • Coordinating the scholarly peer review process for the journal

  • Liaising with authors who submit scholarly articles to the journal and distributing their submissions to peer reviewers

  • Returning feedback from peer reviewers to authors

  • Attending collective meetings on a regular basis (now Thursday 12:30 PM EST) - meetings are held every week during production, then move to every other week afterward

Preferred qualifications include:

  • University professor or advanced graduate student in a humanities field

  • An MA, MFA, or PhD in a humanities field

  • Experience reading academic scholarship in the humanities

  • Some degree of familiarity with feminist theory/scholarship and/or speculative fiction.

The applicant accepted for this position will be trained in the position by our current Peer Review Coordinator, Dr. Barbara Bennett, who will be resigning the position following the publication of our next issue, 26.2.

While FEMSPEC does publish both peer reviewed scholarly and creative work, this position would be involved in the peer review process for scholarly work only.
